Ingredients
- 1 cup sushi rice - 1 1/4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 100 g fresh salmon or tuna, sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, cut into thin strips
- 1/4 cup nori seaweed, cut into strips
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish
Instructions
1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain. 2. Cook the rice in 1 1/4 cups of water in a saucepan. Once boiling, reduce the heat and cover. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed.
3. In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Add this mixture to the cooked rice and gently fold it in.
4. Divide the rice into two bowls. Top with sliced avocado, fish, cucumber, and nori strips.
5. Drizzle soy sauce over the bowls and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
6. Garnish with fresh cilantro or green onions and serve immediately.
