Delicious, autumn-inspired buns filled with a tasty pumpkin filling. Easy to make and sure to please the whole family. Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 12 large buns
Ingredients:
- 500 g pumpkin (butternut squash)- 2 dl sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 dl milk
- 25 g fresh yeast
- 100 g butter
- 1 dl sugar (for dough)
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1/2 kg all-purpose flour
- 1 egg (for brushing)
Instructions:
1. Roast the pumpkin in the oven at 200 °C (392 °F) for about 30 minutes, until soft.2. Allow the pumpkin to cool and mash it in a bowl along with sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.
3. Heat the milk until lukewarm and dissolve the fresh yeast in it. Add melted butter and sugar.
4. Stir in the all-purpose flour and knead the dough until it is elastic and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
5. Let the dough rise under a cloth for about 30 minutes.
6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the pumpkin filling evenly over it.
7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 2-3 cm thick slices.
8. Place the buns in a muffin tin and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
9. Brush the buns with beaten egg and bake at 200 °C (392 °F) for about 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
10. Allow to cool before serving.
