A deliciously spiced parsnip casserole, perfect for the holiday table. Roasted walnuts add a delightful crunch.
Preparation Time: 1.5 - 2 hours
Serving Size: 6-8

Ingredients:

- 600 g parsnips
- 200 g celery root
- 3 dl heavy cream
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 dl syrup or honey
- 70 g walnuts
- 2 tbsp butter

Instructions:

1. Wash and peel the parsnips and celery root. Slice them thinly.
2. Layer the vegetables in a greased baking dish.
3. Mix the spices into the cream and pour the mixture over the vegetables.
4. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top.
5. Drizzle with syrup or honey and add small dollops of butter.
6. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) on the lower rack for 1-2 hours, until the vegetables are tender. Baking time will depend on the thickness of the slices.
