Serving Size: 2-4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sushi rice - 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3.5 oz fresh salmon or tuna
- 1 avocado
- 1 cucumber
- Nori sheets
- Soy sauce for serving
- Wasabi and pickled ginger (optional)
Instructions:
1. Rinse the sushi rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Drain the rice and place it in a pot with the water. 2. Cook the rice on low heat with the lid on for about 15 minutes, until the water is absorbed. Do not lift the lid during cooking.
3. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat the mixture until the sugar and salt dissolve. Pour it over the cooked rice and gently mix.
4. Slice the salmon, avocado, and cucumber into thin strips.
5. Place a nori sheet on a bamboo mat. Spread a layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving about 2 cm at the top.
6. Arrange the slices of salmon, avocado, and cucumber on top of the rice.
7. Roll the nori tightly using the bamboo mat as a guide. Cut the roll into 6-8 pieces with a sharp knife.
8. Serve the sushi with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side.
