Pullakranssi with Bitter Almond Sugar Glaze

A delicious sweet bread wreath perfect for coffee breaks. Its sweet bitter almond glaze adds flavor and a beautiful appearance. Preparation Time: 2 hours (including 1 hour rising time)
Serving Size: Approximately 12-15 pieces
Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 2 dl milk
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 100 g butter
- 100 g bitter almond powder
- 1 dl sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp water (for glaze)
Instructions:
1. Warm the milk until lukewarm, then stir in the sugar and dry yeast. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes.
2. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and the egg. Knead the dough until it is elastic.
3. Incorporate the softened butter into the dough and continue kneading until the butter is well combined.
4. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and sprinkle the bitter almond powder over it.
6. Roll the dough tightly into a log and shape it into a wreath, securing the ends together.
7. Allow the wreath to rise again for 30 minutes.
8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20-25 minutes or until the wreath is beautifully golden.
9. To make the glaze, mix the sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
10. Pour the glaze over the warm wreath and let it cool.
