A traditional Christmas ham that is delicious and impressive for the holiday table.
Preparation Time: 4-6 hours (including cooking time)
Serving Size: 8-12 people

Ingredients:

- 1 whole fresh salted ham (8-12 kg) (leg or festive ham)
- 4 tablespoons mustard
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2-3 bay leaves
- 5-6 garlic cloves (halved)
- 2 cups water

Instructions:

1. Take the ham out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 1-2 hours before cooking.
2. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
3. Place the ham in a roasting pan and add water, bay leaves, and garlic cloves to the pan.
4. In a bowl, mix together the mustard, brown sugar, honey, and black pepper. Brush this mixture over the surface of the ham.
5. Roast the ham in the oven for about 4-6 hours (depending on the size of the ham) until the internal temperature reaches about 75 degrees Celsius (165 degrees Fahrenheit).
6. If necessary, add more water during cooking to keep the ham moist.
7. Let the ham rest, wrapped in foil, for about 20-30 minutes before serving.
