Serving Size: 10-12 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 Christmas ham (approx. 2-3 kg)
- 2 dl brown sugar
- 2 tbsp gingerbread spice mix
- 1 dl honey
- 2 dl water
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 3-4 bay leaves
Instructions:
1. Prepare the ham by removing any skin and rubbing salt and black pepper on its surface.
2. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil and add the brown sugar, honey, and gingerbread spice mix. Stir well until the sugar dissolves.
3. Add the bay leaves to the saucepan and let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 5-10 minutes.
4. Place the ham in a roasting pan and pour the spice mixture over it.
5. Cover the ham with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for about 2-3 hours, until the ham is cooked through.
6. Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest covered with foil for about 15-20 minutes before slicing.
7. Serve the Christmas ham with potatoes, beetroot salad, and other festive dishes.
