Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 8 tea breads
Ingredients:
- 3 dl all-purpose flour
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt or flavored salt
- A couple of grinds of black pepper
- A pinch of onion powder (optional)
- A couple of slices of ham, diced (about 2 pastrami slices)
- 1 small green onion, finely chopped
- 25 g butter or margarine
- 1 dl milk
- Grated cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions:
1. Measure the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, onion powder, ham, and green onion) into a bowl and mix well.
2. Add the butter or margarine to the dry mixture and rub it in until crumbly.
3. Pour in the milk and mix until you have a thick dough.
4. Shape the dough into a square about 1.5-2 cm thick. Cut it into four pieces and then halve each piece to create triangular tea breads. You will have a total of eight tea breads.
5. If desired, sprinkle grated cheese on top of the tea breads.
6. Bake the tea breads in a preheated oven at 220°C (428°F) for about 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
7. Allow to cool slightly and enjoy, for example, with a spread and milk.
