A delicious ham pie made from leftover Christmas ham, perfect for utilizing leftovers. The rye flour base adds flavor and structure, while the filling is rich and savory. Preparation Time: 1 hour

Ingredients
Base: - 200 g rye flour
- 100 g butter
Filling:
- 400-500 g cooked Christmas ham
- 2 onions
- A pinch of nutmeg
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 3 eggs
- 500 ml whole milk
- Grated Parmesan cheese (to taste)
Instructions
1. First, prepare the base. Rub the cold butter into the rye flour until the mixture resembles crumbs. 2. Press the dough into the bottom and sides of a pie dish. Pre-bake the base at 175°C (347°F) for about 10 minutes.
3. Chop the onions and sauté them in a pan until soft.
4. Dice the Christmas ham into small pieces and mix it with the onions. Season with nutmeg, salt, and black pepper.
5. Beat the eggs and add the whole milk. Mix until smooth.
6. Spread the ham filling over the pre-baked base and pour the egg-milk mixture on top.
7. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the filling.
8. Bake the ham pie in the oven at 175°C (347°F) for about 30-40 minutes or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
