A delicious and easy Finnish ham pie filled with ham, vegetables, and cheese. Perfect for a meal or a snack.
Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Serving Size: 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
- 2.5 dl all-purpose flour
- 100 g margarine
- 3 tablespoons water
- 250 g ham strips
- 1 package mixed vegetables
- 1 tomato
- 2 dl grated cheese
- 1 container sour cream
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix the flour, margarine, and water with your fingers until the mixture is smooth. Press the dough into the bottom and sides of a pie dish.
2. Pre-bake the crust at 225°C (437°F) for about 10 minutes.
3. Thaw the mixed vegetables and slice the tomato into thin slices.
4. Spread the ham strips over the pre-baked crust. Add the thawed vegetables and tomato slices on top.
5. In a bowl, mix the sour cream, egg, grated cheese, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the fillings.
6. Bake the Kinkkupiirakka at 225°C (437°F) for about 25-30 minutes until the top is beautifully golden brown.
7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
