Kinkkukiusaus (Ham Casserole)

A delicious Finnish casserole made with potatoes, ham, and cream that is perfect for a cozy meal. Preparation time: 45 minutes
Serving size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 8 potatoes, sliced
- 0.25 tsp freshly ground white pepper
- 2 dl light cream
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 100 g smoked ham, sliced
- 0.5 tsp salt
Instructions:
1. Rinse the potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch and drain well.
2. Layer the potatoes, onions, and ham in a greased baking dish.
3. Season each layer with salt and white pepper.
4. Place a final layer of potatoes on top.
5. Bake the casserole in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for 10 minutes, uncovered.
6. Bring the light cream to a boil and pour it over the potatoes in the dish.
7. Continue baking in the oven until the potatoes are tender and the top is beautifully golden brown.
