A delicious and filling everyday dish that the whole family will enjoy. This recipe is easy to prepare for a larger group and keeps well in the fridge for several days. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 6-8
Ingredients:
- 600 g potatoes - 300 g ham (diced)
- 200 g onion (finely chopped)
- 200 g carrot (grated)
- 200 g cream
- 2 dl milk
- 150 g cheese (grated)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds. 2. Heat the butter in a pan and add the chopped onion. Sauté until the onion is soft.
3. Add the diced ham and grated carrot to the pan and cook for a few minutes.
4. In a bowl, mix together the cream, milk, salt, black pepper, and paprika powder.
5. Grease a baking dish and layer the ingredients in the following order: potatoes, ham-onion mixture, and cream-milk mixture.
6. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with the grated cheese on top.
7. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
