A hearty and comforting meat stew filled with tender meat and vegetables.
Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 packet of Karelian stew meat
- 1 packet of pork strips
- ½ packet of bacon
- 2-3 potatoes (per diner)
- 2 carrots
- 2 onions
- A piece of rutabaga
- Spices (salt, pepper, herbs)
Instructions:
1. Peel and chop the potatoes, carrots, onions, and rutabaga.
2. Cut the bacon into small pieces and fry in a pan until golden brown.
3. Add the Karelian stew meat and pork strips to the pan, cooking until the meat is nicely browned.
4. Transfer the cooked meat and bacon to a large pot.
5. Add the chopped vegetables to the pot.
6. Season with salt, pepper, and your choice of herbs.
7. Pour enough water into the pot to cover the ingredients.
8. Allow the stew to simmer on low heat for about 1.5 to 2 hours, until the meat is tender.
9. Serve warm, ideally with fresh bread.
