These delicious spiral buns are a perfect addition to your coffee table. They're soft, spiced, and lactose-free, making them suitable for various diets.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 12 buns
Ingredients:
- 2.5 dl water
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tbsp cardamom
- approx. 1 dl sugar
- approx. 6 dl flour
- slightly less than a packet of dry yeast
Instructions:
1. Warm the water until it's lukewarm, then add the salt, cardamom, and sugar. Mix well.
2. Add the dry yeast to the water mixture and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it starts to froth.
3. Gradually add the flour to the liquid mixture and knead the dough until it's elastic and pulls away from the bowl's sides.
4. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
5. Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a sheet and cut it into strips.
6. Twist the strips into spiral shapes and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
7. Allow the buns to rise for another 15 minutes.
8. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 15-20 minutes until they are beautifully golden brown.
9. Allow to cool before serving.
