Ingredients:
- 1 kg potatoes
- 3 dl heavy cream
- 2 dl milk
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 100 g grated cheese (e.g., Emmental or Cheddar)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Butter for greasing
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
2. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.
3. Grease a baking dish with butter and layer the potato slices in the dish.
4. In a bowl, mix the heavy cream, milk, salt, black pepper, onion, and garlic. Pour the mixture over the potatoes.
5. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top of the potatoes.
6. Bake at 200 °C (400 °F) for about 45 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the top is beautifully golden brown.
7. Let it sit for a moment before serving.
