Delicious savory pastries filled with devilishly good egg spread. Perfect as a snack or appetizer. Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Serving Size: 6-8 pastries
Ingredients:
- 1 package ready-made pie crust
- 4 large eggs
- 100 g mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (or to taste)
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
2. Roll out the pie crust and line a pie dish with the dough. Prick the bottom with a fork.
3. Pre-bake the crust in the oven for about 10 minutes, until slightly golden brown.
4. Boil the eggs until hard (about 10 minutes) and let them cool. Peel and chop the eggs.
5. In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and chili powder.
6. Add the chopped eggs and chives to the egg mixture and gently combine.
7. Spread the egg mixture over the pre-baked pie crust.
8. Bake the pie in the oven for another 15-20 minutes until the filling is hot.
9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
