Ingredients:
- 1 kg potatoes
- 2 dl heavy cream
- 2 dl milk
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp fresh rosemary or thyme
- 100 g grated cheese (such as Emmental or cheddar)
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
2. Lightly grease a baking dish.
3. Layer the potato slices in the dish.
4. In a bowl, mix the heavy cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and herbs.
5. Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes.
6. Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly on top.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes.
8. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
9. Let it rest for a moment before serving.
