Serving Size: 1 loaf
Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 200 ml water
- 100 ml milk
- 25 g fresh yeast
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 egg (for glazing)
Instructions:
1. Dissolve the fresh yeast in warm water and add milk.
2. Stir in sugar and salt, mixing well.
3. Gradually add the flour to the mixture and knead until the dough is smooth.
4. Add olive oil and knead for a few more minutes.
5. Let the dough rise under a cloth for about 1 hour, until it has doubled in size.
6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a loaf.
7. Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
8. Make barred slashes on the surface of the loaf.
9. Brush the loaf with beaten egg and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
10. Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
