Ingredients:
- 800 g potatoes
- 2 dl cream
- 1 dl milk
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 dl grated cheese (e.g., Emmental or cheddar)
- Fresh herbs (e.g., thyme or parsley) for garnish
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
2. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
3. Heat the butter in a pan and sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
4. In a bowl, mix the cream, milk, salt, and black pepper.
5. Grease a baking dish and layer the potato slices, onion-garlic mixture, and cream-milk mixture.
6. Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the layers.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes.
8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is beautifully golden brown.
9. Let it rest for a moment before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs.
