A comforting beef and cheese stew perfect for family dinners. Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 1.5 hours
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g tender beef
- 1-2 tbsp butter
- 1-2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 250 ml water
- 1 beef broth cube
- 1-2 carrots
- 1 large pickle
- 100 g grated cheese (e.g., cheddar or emmental)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Cut the beef into cubes and sauté in butter in a pan until browned.
2. Add the flour and mix well to coat the meat.
3. Pour in the water and add the beef broth cube. Stir until the cube dissolves.
4. Peel and slice the carrots, then add them to the pot.
5. Chop the pickle into small pieces and add it to the pot as well.
6. Let the stew simmer on low heat for about 1-1.5 hours until the meat is tender.
7. Stir in the grated cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Serve warm with potatoes or bread.
