Delicious spiced gingerbread cookies perfect for enjoying on St. Stephen's Day. Crunchy and festive! Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: About 30 cookies
Ingredients:
- 200 g butter
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 dl syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp clove
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 6 dl all-purpose flour
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the sugar and syrup. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
2. Add the spices, salt, and baking soda to the mixture. Mix well.
3. Gradually incorporate the all-purpose flour and knead into a dough.
4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
5. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
6. Roll out the dough to about 0.5 cm thick and cut out cookies using a cookie cutter.
7. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the oven for about 8-10 minutes.
8. Allow the cookies to cool before decorating.
