A rich and flavorful Christmas bread that brings the festive spirit to your kitchen. This bread is a perfect addition to your holiday table. Preparation Time: 1 hour + rising time
Serving Size: 1 loaf
Ingredients:
- 2.5 dl dark syrup
- 1 dl buttermilk
- 1 tbsp salt
- 2 packets dry yeast
- 3 dl fine rye flour
- 3 dl wheat flour
- 2 dl oat bran
- 3 dl malted barley
Instructions:
1. Heat the buttermilk until warm, about 42°C (107°F).
2. Add the dark syrup and salt to the warm buttermilk and mix well.
3. Combine the dry yeast with the fine rye flour and add it to the mixture.
4. Stir in the malted barley and oat bran.
5. Gradually add the wheat flour until the dough is smooth and elastic.
6. Knead the dough lightly and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
7. Shape the risen dough into a loaf and place it in a baking pan lined with parchment paper.
8. Allow the loaf to rise for another 30 minutes.
9. Bake the bread at 200°C (392°F) for about 30-40 minutes, or until it is beautifully golden brown.
