A delightful and traditional pastry that brings the spirit of Christmas. A perfect treat for the holiday season. Preparation Time: 30 min
Serving Size: 12 pieces
Ingredients:
- 1 package of ready-made puff pastry
- 1 cup of plum jam (or apple jam)
- 1 egg (for brushing)
- Powdered sugar (for decoration)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
2. Roll out the puff pastry into a thin sheet and cut it into squares (approximately 10x10 cm).
3. Make cuts in the corners of the squares about 1.5 cm deep.
4. Place a tablespoon of plum jam in the center of each square.
5. Fold the corners of the square over the center, overlapping slightly.
6. Brush the tops of the pastries with beaten egg.
7. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pastries are beautifully golden.
8. Allow to cool slightly and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
