Sienijoulutortut (Mushroom Pastries)

A delicious festive pastry filled with a savory mushroom mixture. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 12 pastries
Ingredients:
- 1 package puff pastry
- 300 g mixed mushrooms (e.g., porcini and chanterelles)
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 dl cream
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg (for brushing)
- Parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Thaw the puff pastry at room temperature.
2. Chop the onion and garlic. Heat the butter in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent.
3. Add the mixed mushrooms to the pan and cook until the moisture has evaporated.
4. Stir in the cream and season with salt and pepper. Allow the mixture to cool.
5. Roll out the puff pastry into a thin sheet and cut into squares.
6. Place a spoonful of the mushroom filling in the center of each square.
7. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a pocket and pinch tightly to seal.
8. Brush the pastries with beaten egg.
9. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
10. Garnish with parsley before serving.
