Delicious cinnamon rolls that bring warmth and festive spirit to your home, perfect for enjoying on Christmas morning. Preparation Time: 2 hours (including rising)
Serving Size: 12 rolls
Ingredients:
- 5 dl milk- 1 packet (50 g) fresh yeast
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 dl butter (melted)
- 12 dl all-purpose flour
- Filling:
- 1 dl sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 100 g butter (softened)
- For brushing:
- 1 egg
- Pearl sugar
Instructions:
1. Warm the milk until it is lukewarm and dissolve the fresh yeast in it.2. Add sugar, salt, cardamom, cinnamon, and melted butter. Mix well.
3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour until the dough is smooth and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
4. Let the dough rise under a cloth for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
5. Knead the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1 cm thick.
6. Spread the softened butter over the dough and sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon evenly on top.
7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it into slices about 2 cm thick.
8. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
9. Brush the rolls with beaten egg and sprinkle pearl sugar on top.
10. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
