Soft Cinnamon Buns

Serving Size: 12 buns
Ingredients:
- 50 g fresh yeast
- 5 dl milk
- 250 g quark
- Cardamom to taste
- 1.5 dl white syrup
- 0.5 tsp salt
- Approximately 17 dl all-purpose flour
- 100 g butter (softened)
- For brushing: butter, cinnamon, and sugar
- 1 egg
Instructions:
1. Gather all ingredients and allow them to come to room temperature.
2. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm milk in a large bowl.
3. Add quark, white syrup, cardamom, and salt, and mix well.
4. Gradually add flour until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
5. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
6. Incorporate the softened butter into the dough and knead until fully combined.
7. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
8. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
9. Roll the dough into a rectangle and brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
10. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into pieces.
11. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
12. Brush the buns with egg before baking.
13. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
14. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
