A delicious traditional Finnish main dish that combines rich flavors of reindeer meat served with soft puikula potato mash and homemade lingonberry sauce.

Ingredients:

- 500 g reindeer meat (sliced)
- 1 onion
- 2 dl water
- 1 tbsp juniper berries
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 800 g puikula potatoes
- 50 g butter
- 1 dl milk
- 2 dl lingonberries
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional)

Instructions:

1. Peel and chop the onion. Heat a pan and add the onion. Sauté for a moment.
2. Add the reindeer meat to the pan and cook until the meat has a nice color.
3. Add water and juniper berries. Season with salt and pepper. Let simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes.
4. Peel the puikula potatoes and boil them in salted water until soft (about 20 minutes).
5. Drain the boiled puikula potatoes and mash them with butter and milk. Season with salt.
6. Mix the lingonberries with sugar and serve the lingonberry sauce separately.
