Ingredients:
- 4 large bell peppers (various colors)
- 300 g ground beef (or chicken)
- 1 cup pre-cooked rice
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella or cheddar)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté for about 2-3 minutes until softened.
2. Add the ground meat to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt, black pepper, and oregano.
3. Stir in the pre-cooked rice and crushed tomatoes. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
4. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds. Stuff the peppers with the meat mixture.
5. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
6. Bake at 180 °C (350 °F) for about 25-30 minutes, until the peppers are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
