A delicious and hearty fish recipe that the whole family will enjoy. These pike patties are perfect when served with mashed potatoes. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 6-8
Ingredients:
- 1 kg pike fillets (with the largest bones removed)
- 4 eggs (separated into whites and yolks)
- 4 dl heavy cream
- 2-3 tsp salt
- 1 tsp white pepper, ground
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Fresh dill, chopped
Instructions:
1. Remove the largest bones from the pike fillets and grind the fillets using a meat grinder.
2. In a bowl, mix the pike mixture with the egg yolks, cream, salt, white pepper, and lemon juice.
3. Whisk the egg whites until soft peaks form and gently fold them along with the chopped dill into the pike mixture. You can refrigerate the mixture to enhance the flavors.
4. Using two tablespoons, scoop and shape the mixture into patties and fry them in butter on both sides until cooked through. You can also finish cooking the patties in the oven.
5. Serve the pike patties with red onion, chives, and capers. They are recommended to be enjoyed with lemon-butter sauce and boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes.
