A hearty and comforting dish featuring layers of potatoes and tangy sauerkraut baked to perfection.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: Serves 6
Ingredients:
- 2 kg potatoes
- 400 g sauerkraut
- 2 dl cooking cream
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp thyme
- water
Instructions:
1. Wash, peel, and slice the potatoes.
2. In a baking dish, layer the potato slices, sauerkraut with its juice, and sprinkle the spices (salt, black pepper, thyme) in between.
3. In a separate bowl, mix the cooking cream with enough water to create a pourable consistency, then drizzle this mixture over the layers in the baking dish.
4. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) on the lower rack for about 45 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and golden on top.
