Guinness Beer Can Chicken

Guinness Beer Can Chicken
recipe
A delicious and impressive recipe that elevates grilling to a new level. Cooking a whole chicken with a beer can brings flavor and juiciness. Preparation time is about 1.5 hours. Serves 4. Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken (about 1.5 kg)
- 1 can of Guinness beer (or any dark beer)
- 50 g butter
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp honey (optional)
- Fresh herbs (e.g., rosemary or thyme)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the grill or smoker to about 180°C (350°F).
2. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the minced garlic. Heat over low heat until the garlic is soft but not browned. Add honey, salt, and black pepper, and mix well.
3. Stand the chicken upright with the legs facing down, and open the beer can. Pour out about half of the beer (you can drink it or use it for something else).
4. Carefully insert the beer can into the chicken, so the chicken stands upright.
5. Brush the surface of the chicken with the garlic butter mixture and season with salt and black pepper.
6. Place the chicken on the grill or in the smoker and cook for about 1 to 1.5 hours until the internal temperature reaches at least 75°C (165°F).
7. During grilling, you can brush the chicken with the remaining butter mixture a couple of times.
8. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
9. Serve with your choice of sides and enjoy!
