A classic flan featuring a smooth texture and sweet flavor, perfect as a dessert for celebrations or everyday indulgence.
Preparation time: 1 hour
Serving size: 4-6 servings

Ingredients:

- 2 dl milk
- 2 dl heavy cream
- 5 eggs
- 2 dl sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla sugar
- 2 tsp grated lemon zest
- Boiling water

Instructions:

1. Melt the sugar in a clean, dry pan until it turns light brown.
2. Carefully add boiling water to the melted sugar and stir well.
3. Spread the hot sugar mixture evenly in a smooth ring mold or individual ramekins.
4. Whip the eggs and vanilla sugar together until combined.
5. Gradually add the milk, heavy cream, and grated lemon zest to the egg mixture. Mix well.
6. Pour the mixture over the sugar in the mold.
7. Bake in a water bath at 150°C (300°F) for about 45 minutes, or until the flan is set.
8. Allow to cool before serving.
