Orange Pudding (Appelsiinivanukas)

A delicious Spanish dessert that combines the smoothness of pudding with the freshness of orange. This sweet treat is the perfect ending to any meal. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 ml milk
- 200 ml cream
- 150 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- Zest of 1 orange
- Juice of 1 orange
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. In a saucepan, heat the milk and cream. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
3. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and mix in the orange zest, juice, and vanilla extract. Stir well.
4. Gradually add the hot milk and cream mixture to the egg mixture, stirring continuously.
5. Dissolve cornstarch in a small amount of cold water and add it to the pudding mixture. Mix well.
6. Pour the mixture into greased pudding molds or a baking dish.
7. Place the molds on a baking tray and pour hot water into the tray until it reaches halfway up the molds.
8. Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes or until the pudding is set.
9. Allow to cool at room temperature, then transfer to the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
10. Unmold the puddings onto plates and serve with fresh orange slices if desired.
