Ingredients:
- 1 kg potatoes- 2 dl cream
- 2 dl milk
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 100 g grated cheese (e.g., Emmental or Cheddar)
- Butter for greasing the baking dish
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
3. Layer the potato slices in the dish.
4. In a bowl, mix together the cream, milk, crushed garlic, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg.
5. Pour the cream mixture over the potato layers.
6. Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly on top.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes.
8. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the top is beautifully golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
