Description: A hearty and flavorful dish featuring tender braised meat with vegetables, perfect for a cozy dinner.

Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 kg meat (e.g., beef chuck or lamb shank)
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 3-4 carrots, sliced
- 3-4 potatoes, diced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 2 dl beef broth
- 1 dl red wine (e.g., Pinotage or Shiraz)
- 2-3 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Cut the meat into large pieces and season with salt and pepper.
2. Heat the oil in a large pot and brown the meat on all sides.
3. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the pot, sautéing until soft.
4. Peel and slice the carrots and dice the potatoes, then add them to the pot.
5. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, and red wine. Add the bay leaves and herbs.
6. Bring the mixture to a boil, cover with a lid, and simmer on low heat for about 2-3 hours until the meat is tender.
7. Serve warm with red wine.
