Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 pheasant breast fillets
- 170 g bacon
- 1 large onion
- 1 garlic clove
- A pinch of ground cinnamon
- A pinch of allspice
- A few sprigs of thyme
- A few pinches of salt
- A few pinches of black pepper
- 3 tablespoons pomegranate sour sauce
- 2 tablespoons blackcurrant juice concentrate
- A splash of water
- (Optional: a splash of oil for frying)
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the onion, finely chop the garlic, and cut the pheasant and bacon into strips.
2. In a frying pan over medium heat, sauté the onion, garlic, and bacon until slightly browned.
3. Add the cinnamon, allspice, and thyme sprigs to the pan and mix well.
4. Add the pheasant strips to the pan and fry for about a minute, turning frequently. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Lower the heat slightly and add the pomegranate sauce, blackcurrant juice, and water. Stir and let simmer for a few minutes until the pheasant is cooked through.
6. Remove the thyme sprigs, taste, and adjust the seasoning with salt if needed.
7. Serve with a side salad and oven-baked potato wedges.
