Ingredients
- 750 g lean ground beef - 750 ml tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp ground cumin
- 1 tbsp ground allspice
- 1.5 tsp cinnamon
- 1.4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 small sweet onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 can red kidney beans (cooked)
- Grated cheddar cheese (for topping)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sliced onion and sauté until soft and translucent. 2. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
3. Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder, cocoa powder, cumin, allspice, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Mix well.
4. Allow the mixture to simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Finally, add drained kidney beans and heat for an additional 10 minutes.
6. Serve hot, topped with grated cheddar cheese.
