A delicious lasagne featuring chorizo sausage and authentic Mutti tomato sauce. This hearty dish is perfect for everyday or more festive meals. Preparation Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Serving Size: 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 packages of Snellmann chorizo sausage - 1 can of Mutti tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 2.5 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 6 cups of milk
- 175 g of grated Emmental cheese
- Salt to taste
- Just under 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
- Lasagne sheets
- Crumbled blue cheese
- Grated mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
1. Chop the chorizo sausage into small pieces and heat them in the Mutti tomato sauce. Let simmer and flavor for about 10 minutes.2. Prepare the cheese sauce: melt the butter in a saucepan and add the flour while stirring. Heat briefly but do not brown.
3. Gradually add the milk, stirring until the mixture is nearly boiling. Add the grated Emmental cheese and mix until smooth.
4. Season the cheese sauce with salt and nutmeg.
5. Grease a baking dish and preheat the oven to 175°C (or 160°C for a fan oven).
6. Pour some cheese sauce into the bottom of the dish and layer the lasagne sheets tightly on top.
7. Add the chorizo-Mutti sauce and a bit of cheese sauce. Repeat layers 3-4 times.
8. Leave cheese sauce for the top layer. Press the top sheets into the sauce and add plenty of blue cheese and mozzarella on top.
9. Bake the lasagne in the middle of the oven for about 30 minutes, until the top is beautifully golden yellow.
10. Turn off the oven and let the lasagne rest inside for a while. Remove from the oven and wait about 15 minutes before serving.
