A classic South American chimichurri sauce perfect for grilling, spreading on bread, or using as a marinade. Preparation time: 10 minutes
Serving size: Makes about 1 cup
Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 3-4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Juice of 1/2 lime (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
2. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or lime juice as needed.
3. Let the sauce sit in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.
