Ingredients:
- 300 g pasta (such as fusilli or penne)
- 200 g fresh broccoli, chopped
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 100 g Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions. Add the broccoli to the pasta during the last 3-4 minutes of cooking.
2. Drain the pasta and broccoli, reserving a bit of the cooking water.
3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about one minute.
4. Pour the cream into the skillet and mix well. Let it simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes.
5. Add the cooked pasta and broccoli to the cream mixture. Stir well and add some reserved cooking water if needed to achieve a nice consistency.
6. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper. Mix again.
7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
