A delicious Italian appetizer made with toasted bread and various flavorful toppings. Perfect as a snack or starter for your meal. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 baguette or ciabatta bread - 2 garlic cloves
- 4-5 ripe tomatoes
- 1 cup fresh basil
- 100 g mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 cup olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Slice the bread and toast it in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.2. Rub the toasted bread slices with the halved garlic cloves.
3. Prepare the tomato topping: chop the tomatoes and finely chop the basil. Mix them in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
4. Add torn mozzarella cheese on top and drizzle with balsamic vinegar.
5. Spoon the tomato mixture onto the toasted bread and serve immediately.
