A delicious Finnish brioche bun that is soft, fluffy, and perfect for any occasion.
Preparation Time: 2 hours (including rising time)
Serving Size: 12 buns
Ingredients:
- 2 dl milk
- 50 g fresh yeast
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 eggs
- 10 dl flour
- 200 g butter
- 1 egg for brushing
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
1. Take the butter out to reach room temperature about an hour before baking.
2. Warm the milk until it is lukewarm and dissolve the yeast, salt, and honey in it.
3. Mix in the eggs using a wooden fork until well combined.
4. Gradually add the flour to the mixture until a dough forms.
5. Incorporate the butter in small pieces while kneading until the dough is soft and elastic.
6. Cover the dough and let it rise for about an hour.
7. Shape the dough into buns and let them rise under a cloth for another hour.
8. Brush the buns with the beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
9. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (Gas mark 4) for about 15 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown.
