A delicious and hearty Brazilian bean and meat stew that takes you on a flavorful journey to Brazil.

Serving Size: 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

- 500 g black beans
- 300 g beef (e.g., shank)
- 300 g pork (e.g., belly)
- 200 g sausage (e.g., chorizo)
- 1 large onion
- 4 garlic cloves
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt (to taste)
- 4 dl water
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2-3 dl rice (for serving)
- Manioc flour (farinha) for serving

Instructions:

1. Rinse the black beans and soak them in water for at least 8 hours or overnight.
2. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.
3. Cut the meats and sausage into suitable pieces.
4. Heat the oil in a large pot and sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
5. Add the meats and sausage to the pot, cooking until browned.
6. Stir in the soaked beans, bay leaves, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and water. Mix well.
7. Simmer on low heat for about 1.5 hours or until the beans are tender and the flavors have melded.
8. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
9. Serve the feijoada with rice and manioc flour on the side.
