A quick and easy recipe for delicious ham and cheese sandwiches, perfect for a snack or light lunch.

Serving Size: 4 sandwiches

Ingredients:

- 4 slices of bread
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of cheese (e.g., Emmental or cheddar)
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 teaspoon of mustard (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- Fresh herbs (e.g., basil or parsley) for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Spread butter on the outside of each slice of bread.
2. Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in a skillet.
3. Spread mustard on top of the bread (if using).
4. Layer the ham and cheese slices on top of the bread.
5. Cover with another slice of bread, butter side up.
6. Cook on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
7. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
8. Repeat the process with the remaining sandwiches.
9. Cut the sandwiches in half and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
