Ingredients:
- 400 g pasta (e.g., spaghetti or penne)- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 400 g canned crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 50 g parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water until al dente. Drain and reserve a bit of the pasta water.2. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the crushed garlic and chopped onion. Sauté until the onion is soft.
3. Add the crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, black pepper, and dried basil to the pan. Mix well and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes.
4. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce and stir. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water as needed.
5. Stir in the fresh basil and grated parmesan cheese. Mix well and serve immediately.
