recipe

A classic French dessert made with caramelized apples and puff pastry, perfect to end a meal or treat yourself.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 8 servings

Ingredients:

- 6-8 apples (e.g., Granny Smith or Golden Delicious)
- 150 g sugar
- 100 g butter
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 ready-made puff pastry sheet
- A pinch of salt

Instructions:

1. Peel the apples and remove the seeds. Cut the apples in half or quarters.
2. In a skillet, heat the butter and sugar over medium heat until the sugar begins to caramelize. Add the vanilla sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
3. Arrange the apples tightly on top of the caramel. Allow to cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes until the apples soften.
4. Take the pastry sheet out of the fridge and roll it out slightly larger. Cover the apples with the pastry and press down the edges.
5. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 25-30 minutes, until the pastry is beautifully golden brown.
6. Let cool for a moment, then carefully invert the tart onto a serving plate.
7. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
