Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g ground beef
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 can (400 g) red kidney beans
- 1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 dl water
- Oil for frying
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
1. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic cloves.
2. Peel and dice the red bell pepper.
3. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, sautéing until soft.
4. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned.
5. Stir in the diced bell pepper and cook for a few more minutes.
6. Add the tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and water. Mix well.
7. Drain and rinse the red kidney beans, then add them to the mixture.
8. Let the chili simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro if desired.
