This delicious apple pie is the perfect dessert that combines sweet apples with a spiced filling inside a flaky crust. Preparation Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Ingredients:
- 6-8 medium-sized apples (e.g., Granny Smith)- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 package pre-made pie crust
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon butter (diced)
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the apples. Place them in a bowl and mix with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes.2. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
3. Pour the apple mixture over the crust and sprinkle diced butter on top of the filling.
4. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the apple filling. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
5. Brush the top crust with the beaten egg.
6. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for about 45-50 minutes, until the pie is golden brown.
7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
