Ingredients
- 4 star anise - 200 g duck tongues
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 liter strong chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons Shaoxing rice wine (or dry sherry)
- Salt to taste
- Cooking oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons grated ginger
- 200 g onion, chopped
- 200 g Napa cabbage
Instructions
1. Clean and dry the duck tongues. Lightly sprinkle salt on them. 2. Place the tongues in a steamer and steam for about 20 minutes.
3. Heat cooking oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft.
4. Add the crushed garlic, grated ginger, and star anise. Sauté for another minute.
5. Pour the chicken broth into the pot and add the steamed duck tongues, Shaoxing rice wine, and soy sauce. Let it simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes.
6. Finally, add the chopped Napa cabbage to the soup and cook for a few more minutes until the cabbage is tender.
7. Check the seasoning and add salt if necessary.
Serve hot and enjoy!
