Delicious American breakfast buns are the perfect choice for breakfast or a snack. They are soft, tasty, and easy to make. Preparation Time: 1 hour (including rising)
Serving Size: 10-12 buns
Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup oat bran
- 3 teaspoons dry yeast
- 1/2 tablespoon crushed fennel seeds
- 1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2-1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
1. Heat the water until warm and mix in the oat bran. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the water.
2. Add the dry yeast, crushed fennel seeds, brown sugar, and salt. Mix well.
3. Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic. You can do this by hand or using a stand mixer with a dough hook.
4. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30-40 minutes until it doubles in size.
5. Gently knead the dough again and shape it into buns.
6. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 15-20 minutes.
7. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes or until the buns are golden brown.
